Being left with way too many kids. Getting told how to do your job by admin who hasn’t been in a classroom for years. Everything suddenly looking “perfect” only when inspectors show up. This is the reality of working in childcare and why providers are exhausted, burnt out, and ready to leave.

Even the legal classroom ratios are a bit much ! 5 infants for 1 adult !

I worked at 2 different commercially owned daycare and both were atrocious. The first one, the director literally told me to put my child with a heart problem on breathing treatments. And she would actively avoid going into rooms to let us out for restroom breaks. The other one, the assistant director would bring me my kids and then as she would leave just casually mention that my son had gotten bit and be out of the door before I could ask anything....
